HZAU Delegation Visits UC Davis for International Cooperation and Exchanges

From September 26 to 27, a HZAU delegation of three members from the College of Animal Science and Technology and Veterinary Medicine, College of Plant Science & Technology and College of Biomedicine and Health visited the University of California, Davis (UC Davis) to promote in-depth cooperation in talent training, research and academic communication.

HZAU delegation visited the Western Institute for Food Safety and Security (WIFSS), School of Veterinary Medicine, College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences and Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital successively. They were received by PHIL KASS, vice provost of UC Davis, Prof. Bennie Osburn, director of the WIFSS, Prof. Bruno Pypendop, associate dean of School of Veterinary Medicine, Helene Dillard, dean of College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences and Prof. Annie Roeser, assistant dean.
In WIFSS, the two parties introduced the university developments and academic researches of colleges respectively, discussed the agendas of interdisciplinary graduate training programs, “One Health”, joint training courses and programs development, and they heard a special report from Bennie Osburn on the food system and One Health.
In the School of Veterinary Medicine, Liu Xingbin, secretary of the Party Committee of HZAU College of Animal Science and Technology and Veterinary Medicine, and Prof. Bruno Pypendop, signed the cooperation agreement on the joint building of introductory epidemiology courses on behalf of two parties.

In the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, Prof. Luo Zhaoxi, vice dean of HZAU College of Plant Science & Technology, extensively discussed with heads of the College the teaching of undergraduate and graduate students, and the feasibility of carring out joint students training programs such as “3+2”. Jin Anjiang, executive associate dean of HZAU College of Biomedicine and Health, discussed with the leaders of the College the building of teaching staff and academic cooperation and exchanges in the field of nutrition and health. The two parties reached a consensus on the cooperation in teaching and research in animals, plants and human health.
